Always an enjoyable experience here. Consistent quality with a polite professional and friendly server always at attention. My usual server, Paul, never fails to please. Also, dessert at Changs with friends is a go-to for the evening's plans.

Excellent server (J Bell)....He was very attentive and has a very positive attitude. Definitely works hard for your business. Food was EXCELLENT, but the portion was smaller than normal. Either way, this family of five thoroughly enjoyed our dinner!

Love PF Changs! My boyfriend and I go here often! We are never disappointed! We try something different everyone! Love the egg rolls and all the entrees! The dessert is amazing too! Love the fried bananas! Can't wait to go back!

What a horror. Eating at this place was a mistake!!! If I could give it negative five stars I would! For $100 dollars, my sweetheart and I were subjected too a meal full of disgust. Bland boiled chicken, and when we asked for our desert to go, we simply didn't receive. Honestly the service was great, but the food was reminiscing of my dining hall days in college. When I informed the manager she was combative and told me she would send me a little something in the mail. Honestly I would never return, even for a free meal that's how bad and overpriced this place is. Please please don't eat at this excuse for a restaurant. You're local take out Chinese serves way better food than this place!

We ate here once during our stay at Wild Dunes. Yes it's a chain but the food is MUCH better than most chains and very consistent. The service and food were great. We would definitely go back!!

My first time here. Stopped in for a bite while shopping. We had the crispy green beans and tuna roll. Very tasty, great service very clean and inviting. Will return with the hubby for a dinner date

This is a totally standard PF Chang's. Very polite service, cheap, very easy place to hang out. Still with the heavy Californian wine selection by the glass :::shakes fist::: but I did manage to find a nice peppery Merlot from Washington State. Food was hot, although entrees came out a little slow, which was acknowledged and apologized for. The lo mein kicked my dan dan noodle's ass! If you're looking for junk food, go here!

ok - i know this is a chain. but i gotta say the service and food were very good. place was clean and very comfortable. lots of selection to pick from - yeah its chain food.. but it works.... the server was very cool and pointed stuff out. go hungry - portion size is massive. you will be taking food home.

I love pf changs. I never had it until It hit the charleston area. I do feel that he food is over priced, but overall great. They have changed the menu since the last Time I have been there. Seems like there is tons more options to choose from. Overall a four star. The atmosphere is fun. And the food always taste good.

I arrived at 5:40pm on a Monday, so there was no wait and the hostess was happy to seat me in a booth even though I was dining alone. My waiter was prompt, coached me through the particulars of the Triple Happiness happy hour menu as well as the family-style standard dinner menu and sauces. I ordered from the happy hour menu: Edamame dumplings and the Mahi tacos. My drink arrived within seconds, and the food within minutes. I was unprepared for how SMALL the happy hour portions were, but since the prices are low (less than $5 per item in most cases) I just ordered some eggrolls to round it out to a meal-sized amount of food. My eggrolls arrived as quickly as the original order, and were crispy & delicious (as were the fish tacos). Dumplings were very sticky, making them impossible to get out of the steamer with fork or chopsticks (they were stuck to the paper liner), but once I transfered them to a plate I thoroughly enjoyed them.

From my past experiences I would not have given this restaurant before star however, they seem to have picked up on the quality and service. We ordered their famous Chicken Wraps as an appetizer and their Sesame Chicken with Brown rice for our entree to share. The appetizer came out quickly and was much better tasting and more satisfying than it has been in the past. In the past their was either not enough lettuce wraps or their was very little chicken for the price. Basically, there always seemed to be a consistency issue. Which leads me to say that I hope this visit wasn't a fluke. I also appreciated the one sauce on the side rather than the trio of sauces they gave to you in the past. The entree came out in perfect timing, just as we were finishing up our appetizer. Again it was visual satisfying with bright green broccoli and red peppers. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not too heavy and not overly dressed in sauce. It was the perfect serving size for two people to enjoy as well. The ambiance is just as lavish, warm and intimate as always. I love their decor and overall feel of the restaurant. A much more upscale venue in which to enjoy Chinese food.

Not a huge fan of chain-type places like this, but we went for happy hour with some friends and it was good. Service was fine and the place was comfortable. We sat at some high-tops in the bar area. Happy hour prices were very good. 4 drinks for 2 of us, 3 appetizers and a generous tip came to $50. Again, wouldn't seek out a chain restaurant, but would go to happy hour again with a group.

I wish I could give 3.5 as a rating. The ambience counts for something, and this is a well-designed restaurant. But we go to restaurants for the food (mostly). This is where I find P F Chang's Mount Pleasant just a bit weak. It's good, yes, but not outstanding. Obviously quality and taste varies as do people's preferences. While I always enjoy this Chang's and many others I have visited, I still consider the food not on par with better dining establishments.

Ok. Service is decent. Now, this is the 2nd time my husband and I have gotten food poisoning from this place. We haven't been there in over a year because of the 1st time. We were there Saturday night, I asked for a to go box for my meal. Yesterday (sunday) I attempt to dig into my dinner, I'm looking at the beef, it has mold growing in it. It was a bluish, greenish color. I looked it up to make sure I want crazy, sure enough, same exact thing. Pay attention to what you are serving your customers, or eventually, you will be out of business.

One of the best dining experiences we've had in awhile. Allison our server was fantastic!!! The manager was very attentive and polite and the runners and hostesses were friendly AND knowledgable!! We've been here several times and the food is always fantastic, but tonight the service was top notch!!

Meh....Not any better than my local chinese take-out back home. Definitely not bad, and great service but not worth the hype. If you're near the Isle of Palms, don't waste a night/meal of your vacation. Go get some good seafood instead!

I'm only giving this extra stars because my staff was attentive and amazing to my dietary needs. I am allergic to shellfish. They immediately printed out a new updated menu for me. I wish they would add more choices for people with allergies. I really wanted the egg drop soup which is one of my faces but they add oyster sauce to it. I had to get hot and sour soup. It was disgusting. That was my first time eating it but that was the only soup I could get. And I wanted to get the Kuang pua chicken but ended up with just veggie rice. The tirimusa was delicious though.

C'mon, guys - it's a P.F. Chang's for God's sake! It's not like we're reinventing the wheel here. I have been to enough of them to know they are not the quintessence of Chinese cuisine but they are usually pretty good. Not here, however. Crispy Honey Chicken: mushy. Tuna somethingorother: mushy. Firecracker Shrimp: tasteless. "Signature" Chicken Lettuce Wraps: tasteless PLUS mushy...and the lettuce was wet. And the coup de grace was that everything arrived nearly cold. As they say in Shanghai..."Fuggeddaboutit!"

We ventured in here the other afternoon for a spontaneous dinner date. Having never been before, we had no idea what to expect. Also, I've only had non-take-out Chinese food one other place (on Daniel Island), so that's all I have to compare it to. I started out with their Agave Margarita, which was pretty great. It was smaller and more expensive ($9) than my usual at our go-to Mexican restaurant, but I could tell it was higher quality. We chose to do the 2 for 4 special they were running (or maybe it's always an option in the menu?). We both started with the Egg Drop soup, which was pretty yummy. We then had Mongolian Beef and some sort of Spicy Chicken. For one, the spicy chicken was amazing - just not spicy. While delicious, the Mongolian Beef had a TON of sauce on it, which was less than desirable. Just like the other restaurant, they bring out the meals and you serve yourself from both plates (making sharing SO much easier). For dessert we tried the peanut butter crunch cake and the salted caramel cake. I have no idea about the peanut butter crunch, but the salted caramel cake was great! Our server was very attentive, bringing my husband his required 5 diet cokes and knew everything on the menu well enough to help us figure out what we would like and what we would not. We went pretty early (6 isn) so it wasn't crowded and there wasn't a wait. The only complaint is that the parking lot is shared with some businesses and another restaurant, so it was a little hard to find a spot. Overall, I would come here again, skip the alcohol, and figure out what that chicken dish was!

Consistency - EXCEPT,, I used to crave PF Changs when on a road-trip, and narrowed down my choice to Kung Pao Chicken. OK I know that is a bit hackneyed, to choose one dish every time but I found it delicious and exactly to my tastes. On a trip to Ohio, I found that KP chicken had been (at a number of trial sites) changed to a healthier, lower sodium recipe that (of all things) contained boiled celery - absolutely disgusting - to my palate that is. I didn't expect this new, healthy option to be adopted in Charleston - but it was. Adopted is exactly right, like a "red-headed stepchild" - unwanted and certainly unloved. I've had it with Changs.

Very disappointed. My first trip here was way better so I decided to come back. It's iffy if I'll go again. We were greeted by a less than enthusiastic hostess who seemed very put off we were there. It took a bit for our waiter to come to our table. It seems the "you are bothering me" attitude spread to him also. He brought our drinks and we ordered right then. His attention the rest of the visit proved that was a good call. It took almost 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Pretty slow for fried rice and a lunch special. My son spilt his drink and we had to use our own napkins to get it up. When our waiter finally came by he cleaned it up but never replaced our dinner napkins. He asked if we wanted dessert which my son did to the waiters disappointment. He brought our check right after we ordered dessert before dessert arrived and he left twice not filling our drinks or even asking if we would like one. I had to ask again to get a refill for dessert. Our bill was $40 FOR LUNCH, so you would expect better service. Also the manager stopped by three tables around us but completely skipped mine. I guess he knew who our server was and already knew my opinion.

While the food was decent, the service was terrible. I had not been to a PF Chang's in a while and they had some new additions to the menu. The had some sushi and a lighter fare's menu. I decided to order from the lighter fare menu. When I gave my order the waiter informs me that the lighter fare menu is only m-f. They give that menu because of the sushi items on the back. That might have been nice to tell me when they gave us the menu's. I honestly am not sure if it said it on the menu, so if it does I'll take 1/2 credit for that error. They had the same items that I had wanted on the regular menu just in different portions (Chicken satay + eggs rolls) and more money, so I just ordered that. We then waited almost 25-30 minutes for one sushi appetizer. When they brought the sushi appetizer he then tells me that they are out of the chicken satay I ordered, and asks if I need to see the menu again. So, I go ahead and just pick sesame chicken as it's something I know I like. After another 20/25 minutes goes by I politely ask about how much longer until the food comes out. (I should add we have our 2 year old with us, and I'm just trying to decide what I need to do to keep her from loosing it as it is now been at least 40 minutes for her with no food. He nonchalantly says, another couple minutes. The food did come out within about 5 minutes after that. It was pretty good. The kicker was that after I left I realized I never even got the egg rolls. :/

Love me some PF Changs!! They have a creative and delicious menu and the servers are very friendly and informative. Service is usually pretty quick too!! Decor is modern and up to date. The food is always good and flavorful. Awesome dessert menu as well. The Great Wall of chocolate is superb and easily a 5 star cake. The only reason I give PF Changs 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food is heavy and very filling. Overall though, nice place, atmosphere, and location.

It's PF Changs. They've been around long enough to know what to expect from the moment you walk in. I was in to the Mt. P location this evening. I have to admit that PF Changs is not one of my favorite places, nor would it ever be my first choice for dinner, but this location in front of the Town Center shopping center is pretty nice. Myself, the hubs, and little one arrived about 6pm. We were cheerfully greeted at the front door, promptly seated, and given our menus. The waiter was very nice, super attentive, and fast with drinks, dinners, and refills for our glasses. This is the service I expect at PF Changs:fast, courteous, and casual. We ordered a "kids lomien", hot and sour soup, steamed edamame, and kung pao shrimp with brown rice. While I found the hot and sour soup to be all sour (it was strongly vinegar flavored), and no hot, I did enjoy it after stirring in a couple of spoonfuls of chili sauce. Our order of edamame was a very generous portion of perfectly steamed soy beans that were nicely salted and just al denté. The kung pao shrimp were shockinly delicious. Someone back in the kitchen has a handle on lightly caramelizeing the shrimp without overcooking or burning them. My wee one's lomien was pretty terrible though. It was a teeny-tiny plate of sad, room temp, squishy noodles with not a vegetable to be had. All things considered, though, I would return to the Mt. Pleasant PF Changs, and I would definately order the soup, edamame, and kung pao shrimp again. So this dinner was a win in my personal opinion. Just remember it's PF Changs: don't expect a life-altering experience. Go expecting decently prepared food, wonderful serive, and reasonable prices.

Very disappointing visit!! Our waiter was not well educated on PF and had only been on the floor for two weeks. We asked for the trio condiments that they usually bring to the table and after reminding him we asked for them, he informed us he didn't know how to mix them!! My son ordered Kung Pao Shrimp and received Kung Pao Chicken. When he received his correct order, I was done with my dinner already. Never saw a manager and was not comped for anything!

I know it's a chain but I like their food. There is no Pei Wei here, which is P F Chang's bistro, so I go here when I crave it. Service was really good but kitchen is a bit slow. Still, really good food.

My Valentines date and I split the lettuce wrap appetizer, very flavorful the texture was great and what a great idea to use lettuce instead of flour tortillas. Now it is hard to find Chilean sea bass of great quality and PF Changs has it. The portions were great large enough for us to split that entree as well and we left happy we had a great Malbec wine as well, Massimo 2012.

I don't want to sound like a snob, but this so called "Asian" food is an insult to anyone who's never been to the Great China Towns of San Francisco, Seattle or any other place with a large Asian population. My husband and I moved here from Seattle and yes we're a bit spoiled by Asian cuisine but I guess (with the exception of Basil), people that love PF Changs and really think it's the real thing. I know we don't have any diversity here and Asians are basically non existent but you PF Change lovers need to do some traveling. I knew it would be bad but we tried it anyway and it was god awful. It's airport food on a good day.

I mean it's P.F Chang. You can't really comment too much about it. It's American Chinese at the finest (at least I think so) I didn't get anything because I was a little too broke today. But my friends indulged in the P.F Chang fried rice and Kung Pao chicken. They enjoyed their food. (Btw - if you wanna make really good fried rice, the trick is using overnight rice. Trust me. Overnight rice has never failed me so far) Anyway, although I didn't get to try anything, I did find out that Mr. Chang is in Vegas. My waiter said he'll help me say wassup whenever Mr. Chang is in the house. I love P.F Chang (the restaurant). Love my Asian food!

  • Andrew W.

I love PF Changs...some people in the past have claimed that this particular PF Changs was not quite as good as others but I have never ever noticed that. In fact, I have had better food at this restaurant than most of the others I've been to. The happy hour and appetizer menus are personal favorites...mmm those lettuce wraps and dumplings are delicious. One complaint I've always had when going there is the long spiel that the wait and bar staff give you when ordering. If I have a question I'm not shy to ask, I don't really care to listen to a two minute speech prior to ordering. Why do the horses have short nubbed tails...that's my only question.

  • Sandy S.

If you've been to one PF Changs, you've been to them all, but I think they deserve mention for their excellent, great priced menu that includes vegetarian and gluten free items for those who desire. Prices are great. Atmosphere is pretty cool. And the food never disappoints. Located conveniently in the Towne Center of Mt. Pleasant, it's a great place to drop in while doing some shopping.

I had lunch at PF Chang's on 9.17.14 and was disappointed. The food was OK, portions very small, no sauce for the rice, and price was a little high. The salad dressing was inedible. Would not recommend

Oh man where to start...This was my first time at P.F Changs. There was a myth that the place with the big horsey out front was the spot for Chinese american fare..so I decided to take my mom out for some dinner there last night. BOMB. An expensive ass bomb. PF Changs is the Worse. Worser. and Worst. Chinese-american fare I have ever had. ever. I don't know what these folks on here are rambling about it being really good food this or average that..its not even average. Its tasteless. Bland. Thoughtless food. Thats the word. Thoughtless. I could read the step 1,2,3 directions on the back of one of those lo mein in a box packages on the shelf at the grocery store, and STILL come up with something that taste better than this, and for $2.00. Let me explain.. The hostess was pleasant, we were seated and our waiter came over a few minutes later. He explained the menu is set up from top to bottom in order of popularity. I see crispy honey shrimp at the top of one of those columns, so Im thinking..ok that sounds good. Its got to have some veggies with the entree...all good. Now I read the menu, and it didn't LIST any veggies, but I swear I just knew veggies were going to come out with this dish. I mean, why would i just want shrimp and rice? And for $16?? I mean, if I just wanted shrimp, I would have ordered an appetizer. nah, there had to be accompaniment of veggies somewhere.. My mother order the Cashew and Almond Chicken and we order the spring rolls as a starter..Ill leave out the dreadful 5 minute conversation we had with the waiter to try to get some hot tea. For some reason HOT and TEA together was some great complexity for the fella. ANYWAY, the spring rolls were ok. Again, flavorless. Nothing stood out. There was just no flavor. Everything tasted like it was soaked in a vat...THere is nothing good about the word vat. Nothing tastes fresh. Nothing. The food comes out. He puts a plate of shrimp in front of me. And a bowl of rice. Im like, wait wait wait...thats it? This is what cost $16? Some shrimp and a bowl of rice? NO veggies, no sauce, no accompaniment, no compliments, no NOTHING?? I suppose some people are ok with just eating shrimp, but like I said, if I JUST wanted shrimp, I would have ordered an app with JUST shrimp. Shrimp is not a meal. Shrimp with a side of rice is not a meal. I felt like he just put a bowl of delicious cereal in front of me with a nice shiny spoon, but there no milk in the house! Man I was ticked. My mothers cashew and almond chicken was swimming in what tasted like a flavorless sea of brown bullion and standing rain water. The chicken had an odd aftertaste and was chewy. The nuts had more flavor than the chicken. AND to top it off I had THE waiter who asks every 2.5 minutes "How is everything??" AGGHHH!!!!! All of this deliciousness ladies and gents can be yours for $51. When I left, all I could think of was that this place is freakin perfect for Mount Pleasant. You just need a some fancy decor, wait I'm sorry..modern decor, and Mount P. residents will hand over that Visa is a snap. Thats the only reason I can think of any person would even bother to set foot in this place a second time around. Even though take out chinese restaurants always smell the same (you know kinda like subway..lol) , you better believe, ill pay that $8.95 for rice, veggies, a meat or seafood AND an egg roll..now THATS WHATS UP!

Solid Chinese food. It is not Chinatown in New York City, but when you have that need for Asian then this place will hit the spot.

    (3)
  • Malee C.

Where to start? For what it is, it's slightly better than average. Yes, it's overpriced but the decor and atmosphere is lovely. Yes, the food can be good but not outstanding or memorable. A chain is great if you can find something you like because it's available at all their locations but consistency is always the biggest problem. The service was very prompt and not exactly friendly (but I know that varies greatly) but that's ideal for me. Food was okay, not as good as I had hoped after spending $40 pre-tip. Don't expect authentic Chinese but rather a menu aimed to please the masses and with this, they mostly do. And they are all over social sites so please do share your own pictures my fellow Yelpers!!

I came in with high expectations. I was slightly let down. Atmosphere: Beautiful design and decor. Great music. AC was too cold. We all needed sweaters. Customer Service: Hostess were OK Waitress was sweet but very slow considering there was hardly anyone there. It took her quite a while just to even get our drinks. Food: I tried the: Crab Wontons: They were good but I would prefer if they had cream cheese Lemon Brussel Sprouts: Not very impressed. Eggplant dish: Not very impressed. Horrible texture, sauce tasted bland and not very good. Crispy Honey Shrimp: Little over cooked, little under flavored. MA PO TOFU: Tofu was the worst I've ever had CHANG'S SPICY CHICKEN: Chicken was tender and flavorful, spiciness wasn't over powering but over all I wanted it to be more flavorful/savory Mini cheesecake desert: It was literally 3 bites. Very small, but yummy & free because of my bday. Price: Not bad. $40-$50 for an app & two entrees. Conclusion: I will try again and hopefully it will be as good as everyone has told me it is. Hopefully, it's not just this restaurant that's bad but the over all chain is good.

I went to PF's with some friends a few days ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. The waitress came to our table and made this really tasty smoky, chile sauce with a spicy mustard. I Love this sauce. We ordered the Pao Chicken, The Beef and Broccoli, and the Spicy Chicken. All three were exceptional! I'm a huge fan of the Pao Chicken. They bring your food out to the table and put it all in the center of the table and everyone just pulls what they want to their separate plates, buffet style. They're really skimpy on he rice which I thought was weird because it's the cheapest thing. If you like rice you'll have to ask for extra. we asked for extra rice twice. The Pao Chicken is much spicier than the Spicy chicken (but still incredible). There was no fat on the chicken or the beef what so ever. The three dishes were more than enough for the four of us. Most of these dishes are served with peanuts, so if you're allergic this is not the place for you. The atmosphere is really nice and clean. We were waited on by a great girl who was very prompt. I'll be returning to PF Changes for sure!

I had been to Chang's in several other cities, and found it to be better than most other Chinese restaurants (except Lieu's in Milledgeville, GA--the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to in the US). I've now been to this place in Mt. Pleasant twice. The first time I thought it might not be so good just because they were new. But a few months later we tried it again. The food is relatively expensive for Chinese. The taste is typical. Like many Chinese restaurants, the sauces are "gummy" and thick. We consistently order items that the menu claims are hot/spicy, and they never are. We've tried a variety of items, including Chang's spicy chicken, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, hot and sour soup, fried rice (actually the best item we've had there, but nothing special), and a few others. Honestly, it tastes like frozen or fast food. Way over-priced for what it is. The only reason this place might survive here in Charleston is that there is no other good Chinese restaurant. (Red Orchid is not good either, in my opinion, even though most people seem to think it is good.) Overall, PF Chang's in Mt. Pleasant is okay, but expensive. Nothing special. ~3/25/12

This was my 1st visit, but I was overwhelmed by the gorgeous atmosphere and decor. If you eat outside, A/C might blast you from the inside. Portions seemed a tad undersized by American standards, but of course we left full! Everything on the menu sounded amazing. Our dishes were crazy flavorful. Our friends have raved about PF Chang's and I'm looking forward to going back and trying more.

  • Shawn J.

I'm not sure what's with the negative reviews. The food and staff are great. Yes it's gonna cost a little more money then other Asian food joints but its worth it and we normally do the two for forty deal on the menu! The food is very tasty but I have to say its got a tough competition with Red Orchid Chinese bistro in West Ashley and Dragon Palace on Daniel Island. I enjoy the chain..their lettuce wraps are amazing!!

  • Patti B.

Average Americanized Chinese food. Makes me wish I hadn't read the Fortune Cookie Chronicals! They do have outstanding hot and sour soup, however. No better or worse than their Myrtle Beach location. Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese is my "comfort" food so it suited me just fine. The waitress was very nice and attentive. They have plenty of vegetarian choices, if that's what you are looking for. It's no Chinatown restaurant, but it suffices when you are craving Chinese-American food

  • Krista P.

When it comes to Chinese food I usually stick to the tiny hole in the wall places that remind me of my northern influence & street noodles in Chinatown. I totally dig the whole Asian Bistro concept that P.F. Chang's has going on, offering a cozy spot for almost anybody. Keep it classy in the fancy shmancy dining room, enjoy a more chill vibe in the Bar area, or keep it simple and relax on the patio. Happy Hour in the Bar area offers great appetizer & drink specials. Lunch prices are reasonable and dinner portions are hefty enough to share. Don't forget to download the Changs app on your iPhone which highlights new menu items, current specials & online ordering!

  • Morgan S.

I feel weird reviewing PF Changs because it's a chain and can it really be that different from one to the next? Honestly, I don't have as harsh views about this location as the last reviewers. We sat at the bar, got ok service, and ate the lettuce wraps and shared the honey chicken. Both were what we expected. Pretty typical, bad for you chain food. I mean come on.. you're going to P.F Changs... it's not going to be like going to Basil down the road. I'd go again for a quick bite at lunch or before a movie.

After much debate about "where to put PF Chang's horses in Mt. Pleasant" I can safely say that they have landed with all of their 20' horsey glory and after a long wait, the restaurant is now open. The Scottsdale based restaurant chain boasting 190+ locations and over a billion dollars in annual sales is arguably one of the most successful restaurant chains in the marketplace today. Their consistency was something that I have always admired and I found our lunch today to be no exception. We arrived a bit before noon and were told that there would be a 5-10 minute wait for a table so we decided to sit at a high top in the bar area. The building is impressive. Beautiful Asian tapestries, large funky lights and a Zen like interior create a warm atmosphere. Their bar opens to a beautiful outdoor seating area and the indoor/outdoor feel is very inviting. When we first were seated a woman wearing an ear piece approached the table. She explained the way the menu was laid out and said our server would be by soon. We really didn't know what role she played since she didn't introduce herself, nor offer to take our order. Another gentleman in a red shirt (an opening trainer for PF Chang's), asked if our server had been by yet, we said no and he walked away. Still another guy in a blue, French cuffed shirt asked us if we'd like something to drink and described the various iced teas and other beverages that they offered. We were to find out later that he was an investing partner in the place. People were all over us like ants on a cookie. Our server arrived and was pleasant and helpful. He approached the table with a three-sauce combo of pot sticker sauce, chili paste and Chinese mustard. He then proceed to make a combo sauce for us, one that he called, "Dragon's Breath", further describing that PF Chang's encouraged the servers to be imaginative in naming their sauce creation. PF Chang's has been described by some as the "House that Lettuce Wraps built" so we were compelled to order these first. We were not disappointed. The Wraps are served with wok seared minced chicken, mushrooms, green onion served over rice sticks accompanied by crispy iceberg lettuce cups. Note that our order came with only 2 lettuce cups (which is 2 cups too few for the amount of filling). As sat and waited for our lunch we noticed that we were seated very close to what appeared to be two people affiliated with PF Chang's sitting at the bar. Our server would tell us later that they were "folks from Corporate". Because of this our barrage of attention continued throughout the meal. The amount of questions that we received and how many times we were asked if everything was OK was crazy. Several servers, bussers, the chef, and some trainers - everyone stopped by! This was not the action at other tables though, which was unfortunate. In all of this activity the big picture was somewhat missed. My husband ordered off the "Lunch Tradition" menu, and his lunch entrée included a piping hot cup of hot & sour soup which was very nice. Our lunch order, a Pepper Steak Lunch with red and green bell peppers, yellow onion and black pepper served over white rice was also very good. My entrée however was not. The Sichuan Shrimp which I asked for "extra spicy" was spicy but wasn't warm and in fact it was almost cold. So we flagged down one of the entourage and asked to have it warmed up. I get that they are new and that things happen. Lunch took 20 minutes after the soup was served, a few more minutes to flag someone and then we had to wait for my lunch to return. While we were waiting the woman that had first highlighted the menu to us (woman with the earpiece earlier in our saga) came up smiling and said, "Everything is good, yes?" Clearly I did not have anything in front of me. I said, "No, the meal was cold and we sent it back." Off she went to try and retrieve my lunch. She promptly returned with my lunch and said, "Here sweetie, I waited for this to come directly out of the wok and it should be better." She also asked if I wanted my side of brown rice (now even colder replaced), and I said yes. I appreciated this extra touch but really don't dig being called "sweetie" by any staff member. The replacement dish was great, but my husband had already finished his lunch and there I was - alone again, naturally. To her credit she came back and asked how my lunch was and I said that it was very good. She then said "I'm going to take care of that for you since it was cold..." which generally means that she would be buying my lunch. I said that was very kind of her. Although our server was good we waited quite a while to get our check. When we did ask him for our check he then went on to bus a few tables next to us, further adding to our wait. When I asked for a "to-go" container he brought out a large serving tray and stand and then started busing our table. Still no check. M

The staff at this restaurant was some of the friendliest i have ever encountered. Our host and waiter were both extremmmely friendly and very helpful. My boyfriend and I got the prie-fix meal which was a greaaatt deal! We had the scallops which were amazing, and the lettuce wraps were great as always. PF Changs is a great ambiance and always has good food!! I'd recommend it, especially this location

I love Chang's! Every time I go, I get the VIP service! The bartenders are always so attentive. I have come here multiple times and am always satisfied with my service. The manager in the bow tie is always especially considerate to my needs! I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting charleston or anyone that lives and has yet to experience this amazing cuisine :)

My wife and I have visited several PF Changs and this has got to be the worst. We did go a little later (9pm), so things were a little slower and the place was not crowded at all. We had a 830 reservation and as agreed on the phone, we showed up a little late and were immediately seated. We ordered waters, drinks and food all at the same time as we had our 8-month old with us. The waters showed up quickly but the drinks (just a glass of wine and a draft beer) took another 6-8 minutes. We ordered two appetizers, the lettuce wraps and the ahi tuna. The lettuce wraps showed up quickly, but we didn't have any of the sauces. We asked the guy who brought our food, another passing waitress and our original waiter who came by. All apologized and promised to get it right away. We started eating five minutes later without the sauces. We finished the lettuce wraps and the waiter came by to ask how everything was. "We never got the tuna". Really, it didn't come? Let me check on that for you. A few minutes later it shows up, along with our entree, the Mongolian Beef. About this time, our child throws up and we're scrambling to find stuff to clean it up. We raid the table next door for linens and napkins. I aid the next table as well, getting up each time to retrieve supplies. No one seems to notice. We decide to bug out and about that time the waiter shows up and we ask to have the beef boxed. He does the relatively quickly and brings the check at the same time. Overall: I will not go back to this restaurant. I will also think twice before visiting another PF Changs. I'm new to Yelp, so next time ll check out what others have said prior to visiting. I see others have had bad experiences here.

Really good food! Really nice place to come and visit. The layout is very modern. I also really like the double sided bar with one side of the bar out on the porch. However the space between the barkeep and the patron on the porch side seems extremely large. Almost football fieldy. I always go up to the bar when I go. The barkeeps are extremely pleasant and very nice. They are constantly busy trying to keep up the orders from the floor, but they are attentive to your needs. The tap selection at the bar is worse than ice, but they have some bottled drinks. Food is really good too. It is definitely better than Chinese take-out. The grease-level is significantly lower as well. The dishes are always extremely flavorful. The chefs who invented the dishes did an excellent job of adding the right ingredients so that your mouth will be pleased upon the food's entry. One note is that their supposed "hottest" item on the menu is not very hot. Note that I also have an excellent tolerance to heat- I enjoy eating whole habanero peppers raw. Definitely will go back again and again!

I have not been to this establishment in other cities as I tend to avoid chains when out of town. Hearing rave reviews from others who could not wait for this to open, we grabbed carryout one night, some simple appetizers and a noodle dish. First off, what do all the people up front do except tell people that it is an 1:45 to 2:00 wait. With about a half dozen people waiting for tables, I find it hard to believe that the wait time is accurate. On to the food, fried wontons were soggy (they are described as crispy), filling was standard at one of the thousands of chinese restaurants in the country. Dumplings were similiar, but probably the best thing as the egg rolls disappointed also. The Double pan fried noodles were so salty, I felt if you rinsed them off, they may be palatable. I actually tried wiping sauce off to lower the salt. No flavor. Won't be back, and what posers wait 2 hours for bad chain food. Taco Bell may be a better representation of Mexico than PF is of China.

We are SO HAPPY a PF Changs finally came to the Charleston area!!! Restaurant vibe is calm and relaxing. We went during lunch, on a Friday, and although it was busy we didn't have to wait. Food was terrific, as always.

I used to go the the PF Changs in DC and loved it. If you want some Changs, go to the freezer section and get it there. Don't waste you time here. It's the same, if not worse! Long, LONG waits for food! The food is awful!!! I even told my waitress that the soup was disguisting! The decor is nice, the wait staff is nice, the orders were messed up both times. Been there twice, it got worse. Save you time and money and stay away!!!

Food isn't good at all. Over oily and mediocre at most. The only thing good about the restaurant is the decor and contrary to some of the other reviewers, the service. Our server was wonderful and he made the blasé food a little more acceptable. On a second occasion when I went with a moms and babies group, the service was great for a big crowd of loud and crazy kids. They really went out of their way to make us comfortable. We sat out in the patio and had a lovely time.

Would give it ZERO stars but don't have the option. My wife loves chinese food. I am not a fan of chinese unless it's homemade. First thing is first, the place is loud and it was a bit busy but ultimately very loud. Prices were a bit high for what they're serving. The waiters/staff were trying to get to everyone in a timely manor which can be very overwhelming when places are busy. The food on the other hand was terrible. It has a typical chinese aftertaste like it's been sitting in well-water or something. Not a fresh taste what so ever. Crab-rangoon/wontons (are basically similar just different shaped) were filled with salt and black pepper!???? (Never have I experienced such an awful tasting treat!) The only plus side to the entire evening was getting a nice happy feeling off of the 2 Stella beers I had. Our bill was over $50 for my wife and myself. WAY too overpriced for chinese. I will NEVER step foot in a P.F.Changs EVER again. I hope you choose the same! :) Go eat some Japanese or Korean if you want a healthier change & choice.

First, I really want to like this PF Chang's restaurant. The dining room's decor and atmosphere is trendy & sophisticated and generally succeeds. It has a similar feel to as Cypress, downtown, although is not quite at their level. Unfortunately, I have had two sub-par experiences at this PF Chang's, and it is now on my "actively avoid" list. If you want higher-end Chinese in Charleston, drive over to either Red Orchid in West Ashley, or Dragon Palace on Daniel Island. I have eaten at both several times and always been happy with both the food and service. Both are smaller, locally-owned businesses with their focus on a good dining experience. The first time at PF Chang's, I ordered the "Shrimp with Lobster Sauce" and it was inedibly bad, with a foul taste to the sauce. I eat out multiple times a week and almost never have to send food back, but did this time. The server offered to replace it with another dish of my choice, and I opted for something similar to General Tso's Chicken and that was fine. To their credit, the kitchen put my replacement at the front of the line, and the server comped my dish. They handled the problem well so I decided it was worth another visit. The second time was intended as a special occasion dinner for my family. With an 8pm reservation, we were at the hostess stand at 7:57. The restaurant was very busy, and the hostess explained they had "seated a party who checked in earlier". I interpret this as "they gave my table away". We still had no table at 8:07, and I pressed the hostess for an update, to which she gave the same answer. We were seated about 8:09. Initially, the speed of service was adequate. But, halfway through our entrees, with all 4 water glasses empty, our server had seemingly disappeared. With everyone in sour spirits on what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner, I finally flagged down a busser to ask a manager to come by. A few minutes later I explained my disappointment and she merely said "I'm sorry, I'll take care of it" or to that effect. We finally got water. When we were ready for the check, it was a ten-plus minute further wait to ask our server for it, then another 10+ minutes for our card to be swiped. We voiced our dissatisfaction once again and, to their credit, they offered us a gift card plus some accommodation on our check. I was also annoyed that my dish, the "Chengdu Spiced Lamb", was not flagged as "spicy" on the menu (other items are), but was actually slightly spicy to me. It is also listed on the menu as including mint and cumin, but neither was discernible in more than a trace amount. Overall we felt like the food was neither particularly bad nor amazingly good. I used the complimentary valet parking that night, which was prompt and friendly. If you want great parking experience, but don't care about your dining experience, this is the place to go!

I'm telling you, the worst restaurants in this freaking city get great reviews but if something new comes in...watch out. We have eaten at PF Changs in LA, OC, SD, AZ, NC and now in SC. I was so thankful that not only something good was coming, something consistently good, and some EDIBLE Chinese food was going to be available. I hate Red Orchid for their inconsistency in food quality and portion as well as poor management and bad service. So, I rarely get to have great Chinese style food. THANK YOU for coming to Charleston. Our meal was SPOT on perfect, our service was excellent and we were SO happy when we left. We were also happy we made a reservation for our dinner because it was a 90 minute wait. Yummmmmmm. The lettuce wraps were worth the 90 minute wait.

This place is definitely a slow pace southern restaurant. When we finally were seated, we came at 1:45...not exactly the busy lunch hour, we waited for a waitress for a few minutes. She was very pleasant but talked slowly...south Carolinian evidently. The overall food delivery was about 30 minutes...food adequate. Crispy honey chicken was not crispy, but tasted good. Vegetable stir fry very mediocre.

I have been eating in PF Changs for 10 years, From Charlotte to San Diego to South Florida. The one in Mt Pleasant is really missing something..the crowds are there but I just did a carry out order. Wow was it bad. Im picking burnt charcoal out of my teeth from the burned wraps that went with the less than tasty VIP Duck ($20 that I'll never see again). I placed an internet order so as to insure accuracy. I placed the order at 530 for a 630 pickup. We got there a little ahead of time just in case it was ready, and they had ZERO record of the order in hand and had to go fish on-line for it. So it took 30 more minutes waiting to get the order created all over again and made. Suspecting more issues, they forgot the lettuce wraps that go with the lettuce wrap appetizer whcih we caught and got them to fix that, but they left out the sauce for the VIP Duck. The rest of the food was just not good. I am so disapointed because this place is such a slam dunk everywhere else I have been. There was even uncooked pork in the sweet and sour pork..they were obviously rushing to complete this goofed order.

waste of time and $ 60 for 3. If you must try this place - get a reservation...better yet - have reservations about eating here. service was very good - food was akin to a buffet chinese restaurant at 2 x the price. nice decor inside/out, but not worth it. i was surprised that they are allowed to rope off an area and place a threatening "tow away" sign in it for "free" valet parking. I would love to know if the own that parking area, or why they are allowed such an area for their own use.

Meh....Not any better than my local chinese take-out back home. Definitely not bad, and great service but not worth the hype. If you're near the Isle of Palms, don't waste a night/meal of your vacation. Go get some good seafood instead!

We are SO HAPPY a PF Changs finally came to the Charleston area!!! Restaurant vibe is calm and relaxing. We went during lunch, on a Friday, and although it was busy we didn't have to wait. Food was terrific, as always.

Yummmmmmm. The lettuce wraps were worth the 90 minute wait.

waste of time and $ 60 for 3.

Always an enjoyable experience here. Consistent quality with a polite professional and friendly server always at attention. My usual server, Paul, never fails to please. Also, dessert at Changs with friends is a go-to for the evening's plans.

Terrible experience! Food was on par with Chinese takeout, service was terrible, overpriced. If you are looking for good Chinese in Charleston, make the drive to Red Orchid.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
